A Day, Held
Fine art documentary photography
The art of ordinary days
For those who value presence, place and time. Documenting your life, your connections, your moments.
I photograph days as they are lived; quietly, slowly, and without performance.
‘A Day, Held’ is a full-day photographic commission that observes the rhythm of ordinary life: the light in a room, the way time stretches and contracts, the moments that pass unnoticed until they are gone.
I photograph life as it unfolds; quiet, intentional, and grounded in presence. The work is designed to be lived with, remembered, and returned to over time.
The approach is documentary but considered. Nothing is overly staged or performed. I work quietly, offering gentle direction only when needed, and allowing the day to unfold in its own rhythm.
What is created is not simply a collection of images, but a cohesive visual story shaped by tone, pacing, atmosphere and feeling.
Each commission includes a curated digital collection, delivered through a private online archive. Fine art books, printed works and framed pieces are available separately for those who wish to carry the work into something more lasting.
Commissions begin at $3,000 for a full-day photographic commission, reflecting the time, craft and care involved before, during and after your day is photographed.
About Sharon
I am a fine art photographer working with people, place and the quiet passage of time.
My background is in fine art photography, and my work has been awarded and collected nationally and internationally. That grounding shapes how I approach commissioned work: with restraint, intention and respect for the integrity of the image.
A Day, Held is offered in limited numbers each year.
If the work resonates, I invite you to enquire with a little about who you are, what you would like held, and why now feels like the right time.
